Running Blog Entry #2

For today's run, I went on a run with my personal trainer, Ash. We planned this run a few days in advanced so I was quite excited to do this run. However, on previous runs I found that I did not enjoy running with other people because I felt that I would have to run at the other person's pace and wouldn't be able to run at a comfortable pace for me. Luckily on this run, I was able to run at a good pace throughout the entire run, at some points of the run I would be around 10m behind him, but as I stayed the same distance away, it was not too bad. Now that I have gone on a run with someone, I realised that I actually do enjoy running with other person because it pushes me to run further then I would if I was running alone, because I feel the need to run until the other person stops running.

When we were running I felt quite tired because there were a couple long and steep uphill parts. But once I pushed through the uphill, I was able to continue running. I am really proud of myself that I was able to run 3km more than my last run because I was expecting to run around 2km for this run.

Even though I got quite tired from my run, I feel like I have much more energy and feel much more productive, like the same thing that happened on my last run. And I also feel excited to go on my next run even though the running part is not as enjoyable right now but it feels very rewarding afterwards which I enjoy the feeling of. I want to try the same distance again, by myself, to see how different my motivation and perseverance is when running alone compared to running with someone.
